Friday, April 28, 2006 we created a monster, let's name it love
...
it began as a seed we planted
as the chill of winter ran up our spines
we prayed for good weather
and lost ourselves in a maze of time.
the flower bloomed and we,
thanked it for existing
but secretly asked ourselves
when it would die.
so we did everything in our power
to keep death at bay.
even if that meant throwing our former lives away.
like a spoiled child, we gave it all we could give
for we gave it life, we watched it grow,
it won't fade away into the dirt below.
but as soon as it realized its power
it spun out of our grasp and took with it the life we made
a frankenstein of sorts, it turned on its maker.
pride told you to run away
hope told me to stay
i lost but fought the battle all day long
and that's more than you can say.
